1. How is the mentor and the mentee matched
up?

Each mentor completes the application process and
submits a profile. An Ek2G mentor coordinator and
the child’s parent/guardian helps with the matching
process.

2. What are the requirements to be a mentor?

  • 21 and over
  • Live in area where your EK2G chapter has been established
  • Available for at least 2 hours per week
  • Make a 12-month commitment to the EK2G mentoring program
  • The Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, and authoratative word of God

3. How and when will the mentor and mentee get together?

The first getting-to-know each other meeting is held between EK2G staff, the mentor, child, and parent. Thereafter, the mentor may contact the parent directly to coordinate outings. The mentor sends a progress report to the EK2G coordinator weekly after the outings.

4. Does the mentor have to have a particular church affiliation?

It is important that the mentor be affiliated with Christian church. A recommendation from your church may be requested.

5. Do the kids have to come from a single-family home?

No. It can simply be a matter of the parent wanting more for their child’s life.

6. Does the child have to be a Christian to enroll in the program?

No. All children are welcome to participate in the EK2G program.

7. How do I know that my child’s mentor is a true believer/follower of the Christian faith?

EK2G does a thorough interview with the mentor in addition to a background check including fingerprinting, references, and recommendation letters. You will also be able to view the profiles of all EK2G mentors as well as assist in the matching process.

8. How much money will I spend as a mentor?

We encourage each mentor to focus more on building a friendship rather than spending lots of money during outings.

9. What are your core doctrinal beliefs as an organization?

We Believe…

· The Bible to be the only inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God.

· That there is only one God, Creator and Lord of all, who has revealed Himself as
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

· In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ as true God and true man, His incarnation and virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His imminent personal return to earth.

· That the Lord Jesus Christ died and shed His blood as a sacrifice for sin, and that we are justified by grace through faith in Christ alone, apart from any human merit.

· That the regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful man, through the repentance from sin and the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

· In the present ministry and gifts of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is able to live a godly life.

· In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the
resurrection of eternal life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal
separation.

· That the church, the spiritual body of which Jesus Christ is the head, is bound together by the Holy Spirit consisting of all who are born again, and that, He is constantly purifying and preparing the body of Christ for His return
